Dr. Nowak completed her undergraduate studies at Loyola University Chicago, then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 2019.
Since graduating she has worked across several small animal clinics in and around Chicago, including Pulaski Animal Hospital, Banfield Pet Hospital, and VCA Worth Animal Hospital. Each of those, she says, sharpened both her medicine and the way she talks to owners.
Education and communication are the parts of the job she cares most about. Her aim in an appointment is not to hand over instructions but to make sure you understand your pet's health well enough to make decisions with her, as a team. She admits to a particular soft spot for small, feisty dogs, having one of her own.
Her parents moved to the United States from Poland when she was an infant, and she is glad to be able to serve the Polish speaking community in the area as well.
