Wellness exams that never feel rushed.
A wellness exam is a routine nose to tail checkup that catches problems while they are still small and cheap to fix. We check your pet’s heart, lungs, eyes, ears, teeth, skin, joints, and weight, then talk through what we found and what it costs. Most healthy pets need one every year.

What is included in a wellness visit?
Every wellness appointment covers the same ground, whether it is a first puppy visit or a fifteenth annual check.
A full nose to tail physical
Heart, lungs, eyes, ears, mouth, skin, joints, and weight, with everything explained as we go.
A vaccine plan built for your pet
Based on age, species, and how your pet actually lives, not a default checklist.
Parasite prevention that fits
Fleas, ticks, heartworm, and intestinal parasites, with prevention matched to risk.
Nutrition and weight guidance
Straight talk about food and body condition, which quietly drives most long term health.
Dental check
We look at what is happening under the gum line and tell you if it needs attention yet.
Time for your questions
The part most clinics cut. We would rather you leave understanding the plan.
Why does my pet hate the vet, and what can we do about it?
Most pets are not being difficult. They are frightened, and a frightened animal is harder to examine properly, which means worse medicine. Fear Free is a certification that trains the whole team to lower that fear instead of powering through it.
In practice that looks small: examining a cat in the bottom half of their own carrier, letting a nervous dog take the room at their pace, using treats and pheromones, and sending home calming medication before a visit when it will genuinely help. Our exam rooms are painted in bright colors for the same reason. It does not feel like a hospital corridor.

Wellness questions owners actually ask
How often does my pet need a wellness exam?
Once a year for most healthy adult dogs and cats. Puppies and kittens come in more often during their first few months for vaccines and growth checks, and senior pets do better with twice yearly visits because things change faster as they age. What actually happens during the exam?
A full nose to tail check: eyes, ears, mouth and teeth, heart and lungs, belly, skin and coat, joints, and weight. We talk through what we find as we go, rather than handing you a summary at the end.My pet gets terrified at the vet. What do you do differently?
We are Fear Free certified, which means we adjust the visit to your pet rather than forcing them through it. That can mean going slower, using treats and pheromones, examining a cat in their carrier, or sending calming medication home to give before the next visit. How long should I plan for?
Plan on about thirty minutes. We would rather answer your questions properly than move you along, which is the thing our clients mention most in reviews. Will you tell me the cost before you do anything?
Yes. If the exam turns up something that needs bloodwork, imaging, or treatment, we tell you what it costs and why it matters before we proceed. No surprise line items.Do you see birds and exotic pets for wellness visits?
We do, and it is a real gap locally. Birds, rabbits, and other exotics have their own wellness needs and hide illness well, so routine checks matter even more. See our exotic pet care page for the details. What vaccines does my pet actually need?
It depends on species, age, lifestyle, and local risk. Some are core for every pet, others depend on whether your dog goes to daycare, boarding, or the woods. We build a schedule around your pet instead of defaulting to everything.Do I need bloodwork if my pet seems healthy?
Baseline bloodwork is genuinely useful, especially from middle age on. Pets are very good at hiding early kidney, liver, and thyroid disease, and catching a trend early is far cheaper and kinder than treating a crisis later. Can I bring more than one pet to the same appointment?
Yes, just tell us when you book so we schedule enough time. Each pet still gets their own full exam.I am a new client. What should I bring?
Any prior medical records or vaccine history you have, plus the name of the food your pet eats. If you are not sure what they eat, a photo of the bag works. We will send your new client forms after you book.
