Answers during your visit, not next week.
Diagnostics are how we replace guessing with knowing. We run digital X-ray, ultrasound, and laboratory work in house, which means many answers come back during your visit rather than after several days. Faster answers mean treatment starts sooner, and usually costs less than treating the wrong thing.

What we can do in house
Keeping this equipment in the building is what lets us work a case up in one visit instead of three.
Digital X-ray
Bones, chest, and abdomen, with images on screen in moments. Essential for orthopedic cases and for confirming a healed bone after surgery.
Ultrasound
A real time look inside soft tissue and organs, without radiation. Useful for abdominal problems, urinary issues, and guiding sampling.
Laboratory work
Bloodwork, urinalysis, and screening panels run on site, so a sick pet does not wait days for the number that decides their treatment.
Diagnostic questions owners actually ask
Why does my pet need X-rays or bloodwork?
Because pets cannot tell us where it hurts. Imaging and lab work turn a list of possibilities into an answer, which is what stops you paying to treat the wrong thing twice. How long do results take?
In house diagnostics mean many results come back during your visit rather than after a wait of several days. Some specialized tests go to an outside lab and take longer, and we will tell you which is which up front. What is the difference between X-ray and ultrasound?
X-ray is best for bones, chest, and overall shape and position of organs. Ultrasound looks inside soft tissue and organs in real time. They answer different questions, and sometimes we need both.Does my pet need sedation for imaging?
Often not. Many X-rays and ultrasounds are done with gentle handling and a bit of patience, which fits how we work anyway. When positioning would be painful or genuinely stressful, light sedation is kinder than forcing it.Is bloodwork worth it if my pet seems healthy?
Baseline bloodwork is genuinely useful, especially from middle age on. Pets hide early kidney, liver, and thyroid disease well, and catching a trend early is cheaper and kinder than treating a crisis later. Will you explain the results, or just send them?
We go through them with you, including what is normal and why that matters. If something needs monitoring rather than treating, we will say so rather than defaulting to intervention.Do you do imaging for exotic pets and birds?
Yes, and it is often more important there, because prey species hide illness until they are quite sick. Handling and positioning differ by species, so call ahead and we will prepare properly. What does diagnostic work cost?
You get a treatment plan before we run anything, and we explain what each test will actually tell us so you can make an informed decision rather than approving a list.
Stop guessing about what is wrong.
Book a visit and we will work it up properly, explain the results, and quote before we run anything.
