Surgery, done in our own suite.
Our surgical suite handles routine procedures like spays and neuters through to complex soft tissue work that many practices refer out. Dr. Torok operates here, with dedicated anesthesia monitoring and pain control planned before the first incision. You get an itemized quote before anything is scheduled.

What we operate on
Most general practices in the area send their harder cases elsewhere. We kept surgery in house, which means the veterinarian who diagnoses your pet is the one who operates and the one who sees them at every recheck.
That continuity matters more than owners expect. Nobody is reading someone else's notes to work out what happened in theatre.
- TPLO surgeryFor torn cranial cruciate ligaments
- Orthopedic surgeryCCL stabilization and patella luxation
- Dental surgery and extractionsWith full mouth dental X-rays
- Diagnostics and imagingWorking the case up before theatre
Spays, neuters, and mass removals are routine here too. Ask us about anything not listed.
What to expect the day of surgery
No surprises. Here is how the day runs from drop off to going home.
Drop off in the morning
You will have specific instructions to withhold food from the night before, with water still available. We check you in, go over the plan one more time, and answer any last questions.
A pre anesthetic check
A physical exam and pre surgical bloodwork confirm your pet is ready for anesthesia. Nothing proceeds until we are satisfied it is safe.
Anesthesia, monitored the whole way
Pain control starts before the first incision, and a dedicated team member watches your pet's vital signs continuously, not now and then.
We call you when it is over
You hear from us as soon as your pet is in recovery, with an honest update and a time to come and collect them.
Home the same day, usually
Most soft tissue patients head home the same afternoon with written instructions and any medication they need.
What recovery looks like at home
The part you manage. Get these right and most pets heal without a hitch.
The first night
Your pet may be groggy and quiet. Keep them warm, calm, and away from stairs and other pets, and offer a small meal.
Protect the incision
No licking. The cone or recovery suit stays on. Check the site once a day for redness, swelling, or discharge, and call us if anything looks off.
Rest, not romps
Restricted activity and short leash walks only, for the period we specify. This is the single biggest thing you control in how well your pet heals.
Medication on schedule
Give pain medication exactly as directed, even on the days your pet seems fine. Staying ahead of the pain keeps recovery smoother.
A recheck with us
We see your pet to check healing and remove sutures if needed, and you leave that first visit knowing exactly when to come back.

Surgery questions owners actually ask
What surgery do you do here rather than refer out?
Routine procedures such as spays and neuters, mass removals, and a range of complex soft tissue work, plus orthopedic surgery including TPLO. Many single doctor practices in the area refer that last category elsewhere. Will my pet be safe under anesthesia?
We screen with an exam and pre surgical bloodwork, tailor the protocol to your pet's age and health, and a team member monitors them continuously rather than intermittently. Ask us anything about the protocol at your consult. How is pain managed?
Pain control starts before the first incision rather than after your pet wakes up, and continues at home with a multi step plan. Getting ahead of pain is far more effective than chasing it.Will my pet stay overnight?
It depends entirely on the procedure and your pet. We will tell you the plan at the consult so you can arrange your day, rather than surprising you afterwards.Do I need a referral?
No. You can book a surgical consult with us directly. If another veterinarian has already worked the case up, bring the records and imaging and we will review them with you. What will it cost?
You get an itemized quote at the consult, before anything is scheduled. It covers the whole arc of care rather than a headline figure that grows later, and to pay over time we accept Cherry (opens in a new window), CareCredit (opens in a new window), All Pet Card (opens in a new window) and Scratchpay (opens in a new window). What should I do the night before?
We will give you specific instructions, which usually include withholding food from a set time while leaving water available. Follow them exactly, and call us if anything is unclear. What does recovery look like?
Most soft tissue procedures need a couple of weeks of restricted activity and incision checks. Orthopedic recovery is longer and more structured. Either way you leave with written instructions, not just verbal ones.
