Founder, Navy veteran, and GP ortho and soft tissue surgeon
Dr. Torok founded Urban Veterinary Associates to build the kind of practice she wanted to work in: bright, welcoming, and genuinely good at the hard cases. She is the GP ortho and soft tissue surgeon behind the orthopedic work most local clinics refer out, including TPLO, CCL stabilization, and patella luxation correction, all done in our own surgical suite.
She is a 2008 graduate of the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine, with post graduate training in internal medicine, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, ultrasound, and advanced dentistry. Before veterinary school she spent years as a surgical assistant in the US Navy, and she has previously been Medical Director at two AAHA accredited practices.
She is an Elite Fear Free Certified Professional, a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, and a federally accredited veterinarian, which lets her write international health certificates for patients travelling abroad.
Her approach is the one clients mention most in reviews: high standards, complex procedures done in-house, and the time to explain what is happening and what it costs before anything is decided.
